Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global organization that supports companies in defining greenhouse gas emission reduction targets aligned with the best available climate science. Created through a partnership between CDP, the UN Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI), and WWF, the SBTi establishes rigorous technical criteria to ensure that corporate targets are compatible with the goals of the Paris Agreement, limiting global warming to 1.5°C or well below 2°C.

The approval of targets by the SBTi means that an organization's climate strategy has been technically evaluated and deemed consistent with internationally recognized scientific pathways, providing robustness, credibility, and transparency to its climate commitment.

Mitsidi and the Approval of its Targets by the SBTi
Mitsidi has had its emission reduction targets approved by the SBTi, consolidating its commitment to a climate trajectory based on science and aligned with the Paris Agreement. This international technical validation reinforces the consistency between the company's performance in decarbonization consulting and its internal climate management practices.

This recognition positions Mitsidi within a select group of organizations that do not only advocate for the energy transition but also structure their own strategies based on rigorous scientific criteria. In the market, the approval of these targets strengthens institutional credibility, enhances the trust of clients and partners, and demonstrates technical leadership and climate responsibility.
